Tees Valley has been identified as a ‘wave 2’ area to develop a Local Industrial Strategy (LIS).
It is important that the LIS is informed by local intelligence, and that the priorities identified set a shared course to increase productivity in the region.
To ensure that there is broad stakeholder involvement to develop the strategy Tees Valley Combined Authority will be holding a series of 'Sector Challenge' engagement events over the coming months (based around priority sectors and the key themes, or foundations of productivity).
As part of this process they are hosting bespoke sessions for the VCSE. They want to ensure that there is broad representation, covering all of the Local Authority areas and relevant leads for key themes relating to economic growth and productivity.
The purpose of the sessions will be to introduce the timescales and process to develop the LIS; to present a high level overview of the Tees Valley economy; and to identify further opportunities for VCSE reps to be involved in shaping the final strategy.
